Royal Caribbean's Ultimate World Cruise, renowned for its epic 274-night journey across 65 different countries, is currently tackling a notable setback. Just 24 days into its ambitious voyage, the cruise has encountered flooding issues attributed to severe weather conditions and wind-driven rain.

Videos from the much-discussed Ultimate World Cruise reveal significant flooding on Deck 12 of Royal Caribbean's Serenade of the Seas. The ship, currently navigating the coast of Brazil and Uruguay, experienced dramatic water flow down corridors, soaking carpets, and flooding balconies. This issue arises due to stormy weather and strong winds encountered between port visits to Rio de Janeiro on December 31 and Montevideo on January 4.

This video, posted by Adita on TikTok, has garnered over 1 million views, showcasing the challenges faced by the cruise. Strong winds reaching speeds of 20-30 mph, with gusts up to 35 mph, have led to rain and sea spray flooding the outside deck and entering the ship through exterior doors on Deck 12.

As a response, crew members are actively working to minimize water intrusion, temporarily closing forward elevators for precautionary measures. While the ship's motion exacerbates the situation, once the weather calms, excess water on decks and balconies will drain back into the ocean.

It's crucial to note that, currently, only one section of Deck 12 is affected, and there are no reports of structural issues or emergencies on the ship. Measures such as squeegeeing water and using industrial fans to dry out affected areas are being implemented, and specific public corridors may be temporarily closed.

Despite this challenging situation, the flooding is solely a result of adverse weather conditions and not indicative of any structural concerns.
